Alf Dubs is a Labour Peer, former MP for Battersea, and known today as a staunch campaigner for refugees’ rights, especially for those who flee here as unaccompanied children.

Alf was only six years old in 1938 when he was rescued from the Nazi occupation of his native Prague. He came alone to this country as part of the famous Kindertransport which brought some 10,000 children to the UK in the two years before the outbreak of World War Two. Unlike most of those children, Alf was later re-united with his parents.

He is now known for the Dubs amendment to the Immigration Bill of 2016 which said the government should take in and support 3,000 refugee children. But just a few hundred were taken in after the government imposed limits on numbers. A sustained campaign by Alf and the charity Safe Passage, should mean these limits have now been modified, and the Alf Dubs Children’s Fund has been set up to continue the legacy of the Kindertransport, and help some of the most vulnerable children in Europe.

So please join Lord Dubs for dinner on 11 July at Franca Manca 8 Red Lion Street, Richmond, TW9 1RW at 7.15

Tickets £22 (Pizza or salad with a glass of wine) or £27 (Pizza or salad, glass of wine and dessert)
